Have you ever seen a group of kids fight over a toy and, in the process, the toy breaks? They just get louder. First, they argue about who was responsible for breaking the toy. Then it evolves into a string of nonsensical arguments that have nothing to do with the very important issue of fixing said toy. They totally ignore the broken object in front of them. They never stop to think that if they tried to cooperate in the first place, the toy wouldn’t have broke and if they could stop acting like idiots for a second, they would have fixed it by now. It really doesn’t matter to them. They’ve moved on, but all the other kids at school who want to play with the toy are screwed now. This is why I can’t stand politicians.
